music: footloose & flashdance

i can appreciate a good cover
[as long as said cover doesn't involve taking a perfectly good hippie song and turning it into a ska/punk monstrosity, that is. *shudder*]

just a couple gems i found this week:

from footloose, rendition by ella mae bowen
recommended by da baby sista
[still waiting for kevin bacon to do his own cover. stillll waiting, kevin...KEVIN ARE YOU THERE?!]

oh hi kevin.
drew ryniewicz from x-factor did flashdance a serious solid
did i mention she's only 14? i mean...sweet huckleberries, child.
[now don't go crazy and do drugs and spoil that bright career of yours....]

anyone seen the new footloose?

....recommend any other stellar acoustic covers?

hey, sometimes i do my own covers:
"firework" by katy perry
"build me up buttercup" by the foundations
"can't help falling in love" by the king

You have such a fun blog! I've already laughed like 20 times :)

PS - that green door is not my house - it was just a place in downtown LA. Good luck with your dream of opening The Green Door Cafe!

I haven't seen the new Footloose! I want to, though. I heard that it is good.

Annd. As for my favorite covers, anything by Jaymee Dee is gold, in my book. You MUST look her up. I would suggest starting with her version of "Pumped Up Kicks." It is amazing.
